The FJR has been celebrated as one of the best touring motorcycles on the market, combining comfort, reliability and practicality into one machine. This bike is all about touring comfort, featuring a shaft driven, 1298cc in-line four engine with specially designed low vibration crankshafts to provide capable passing power, while giving rider and pillion optimal comfort. Holding 144BHP, this engine is fast and more than capable at carrying such a big machine.
Improvements on previous models includes a 6th gear, Yamaha’s own Slip and Assist Clutch Technology (equating to 20% lighter clutch lever action), LED lights (with adaptive cornering) and a digital display as standard.
The frame is constructed from aluminium, creating a lightweight but rigid chassis with good manoeuvrability. Comfort seats for both rider and pillion, 30L hard case panniers, heated grips, 12V outlet for phones /gadgets and adjustable wind screen come as standard. The 25L tank boasts a range of 40mpg.
